Prevention guide

General pest prevention for restaurants and cafés

In a food business, prevention is a daily routine rather than an annual job. These are the areas where it pays off first.

Dry storage and deliveries

Check incoming deliveries before they go into stores, keep dry goods in sealed containers, and use stock in rotation so nothing sits at the back of a shelf for months.

Drainage and floor edges

Floor drains, grease traps and the edges behind fixed equipment stay damp and undisturbed — exactly the conditions that sustain cockroach activity. Build them into the cleaning schedule.

Waste and closing routines

Empty bins before close, move waste containers away from kitchen walls, and finish with a wipe-down of preparation surfaces. A consistent closing routine is the most effective single measure.

Tell us what you have noticed

Describe the pest problem, the property and the area of Koh Samui it is in. We will come back to you with the next sensible step.
